Job Description


  • Recruit, supervise and train maintenance team, under CSP and Tús programmes.
  • Work with HOMELink Call Centre Staff to coordinate maintenance requests from HOMELink members.
  • Inspect member’s properties periodically to determine maintenance request work and to provide costings for each job requested.
  • Prepare maintenance schedules and allocate work of the HOMELink maintenance team.
  • Work as a member of the maintenance team, when necessary. Inspects work for completeness.

Job Brief

We are looking for a competent Maintenance Supervisor to manage our HOMELink maintenance service. Under the direction of the Manager, you will be responsible for hiring and training maintenance staff and ensuring the smooth running of basic home maintenance repair operations at member/client’s homes. The Maintenance Supervisor will determine material, equipment, and supplies to be used, and cost out each job for the clients; oversee the transfer of equipment and personnel from one project to another as necessary. Coordinate the work of maintenance staff, and carry out general repairs along with maintenance staff, such as painting, patching walls, security hardware, hanging shelves and landscaping. Inspect work for completeness and update inventories and other supplies as needed. Maintain timesheets and other routine records, including, but not limited to, Google calendar, lodgments, invoices, vendor accounts, etc. Maintain records of work and write monthly reports summarizing programme activities.

An excellent maintenance supervisor must be reliable and have a great eye for detail. Technical skills and knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, gardening, etc. are needed for this post. Leadership and knowledge of administrative tasks such as scheduling, record keeping and reporting are also essential. Possession of a current and valid motor vehicle operator's license.

This is a part time post but may be linked to other posts within the organisation.

Job Function

  • Inspect member’s properties periodically to determine maintenance request work and develop costings for each job
  • Prepare daily maintenance schedules and allocate work. Ensure work schedules and attendance sheets are accurately maintained and delivered in a timely fashion.
  • Recruit, schedule, supervise, support and train maintenance team
  • Work with Tús to facilitate the recruitment of Participants, and to manage and process Participants’ documentation including applications, training certs, assessments, start-up forms, leavers forms and timesheets. Produce regular progress reports to Tús
  • Meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees, vendors and client members. Deal with disciplinary and grievance matters in relation to team members in line with company policies;
  • Maintain personnel records for each team member, ensuring data protection and confidentiality in relation to such records
  • Adhere to quality standards and health and safety regulations; ensure that all work carried out is done in compliance with all relevant workplace legislation and in line with current best practice and within the terms of the insurance policies. Be vigilant to any risks in the workplace or member’s properties and bring any concerns to the attention of the Manager.
  • Organise relevant health and safety training for team members
  • Ensure adequate protective clothing/equipment is purchased and issued to team members.
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance
  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
  • Market maintenance services to encourage greater use of HOMELink maintenance services.


  • Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role
  • Technical skills and knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, gardening, etc.
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities
  • Computer skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possession of a current and valid motor vehicle operator's license.
